Iran's Nuclear Future

Read the time line, focusing on the issues from 1907 on. Where do you foresee Iran's nuclear program in the next two years based on today's issues? If Iran were to launch a nuclear attack, who do you see it on, and for what reason?

Along with it's nuclear advancements and stance, include possible retaliations from countries like the US and Iran.

  1. You never know, perhaps Iran seriously is going to use their nuclear power for electricity, and there will be no problems other than the ones we start. We could be making a mountain out of a molehill. Just saying.

  2. Based on todays issues, and seeing the way in which Iran has progressed over the years, I forsee Iran's nuclear program being much stronger and destructive in the next two years, unless completely drastic action is used to stop them. I believe the US would be the ones to retaliate if nuclear attacks took place.

  3. I foresee Iran's nuclear program obviously deveopling stronger and having the ability to cause some serious damage if the bee hive is poked enough. My hopes are that we reach some sort of agreement with hindering Iran from using nuclear facilities, or I hope they do indeed use those facilities for electricity, because nuclear powerplants can pump out a lot of energy.

  4. Though i admire Emilie's optimism, i feel as though even though that would be great, it is also important to look at the possible pessimistic side of things as well. I think there is a good chance that Iran could build a very strong nuclear program that could cause serious amounts of damage. I hope that this nuclear program will act as more of a threat and a safety net verses actual means of destruction

  5. I will address the second question:

If Iran were to launch a nuclear attack, I would see it upon Israel, or the United States if we were to threaten them so harshly as a sole entety. Israel would probably be the better bet, however, seeing as they have that whole "You-Don't-Recognize-The-Holocaust-And-We're-Totally-Jewish" thing going for them (which the Iranian president doesn't really happen to like).

  6. I would say that although it would be cool if Iran just developed energy, the strategic placement of their facilities suggest otherwise. I think that they will develop into a major nuclear threat in the next two years, and if they were to launch an attack it would totally be in Israel.

  7. In two years they won't even be close to having the resources massed to make a viable bomb. Getting one from another nation is another story.
